Truffles, Wine & Heritage near Budapest
About This Experience
Your day begins with a scenic 40-minute drive from Budapest to a beautifully preserved 17th-century watermill, where we kick off with a welcome glass (or two) of sparkling wine. Around the mill, you’ll join a local truffle hunter and his trained dogs for a genuine black-truffle search.
After the hunt, we settle in for a gourmet tasting: classic foie gras “nature,” our house specialty foie gras with black truffle and Tokaji Aszú, and truffle butter crowned with fresh truffle. Paired, of course, with more bubbles.
A short, scenic 10-minute drive brings us to Etyek, where we visit a family presshouse to sample 4–5 locally made wines. We’ll also snack on fresh, locally made pogácsa, Hungary’s favorite savory bite between tastings.
We close the experience at another boutique winery with a traditional Hungarian lunch thoughtfully paired with wine.
